Island peak Climbing - 16 Days

Island Peak is the pseudo name given to the Imja Tse peak of Nepal by explorer Eric Shipton’s team in  1953. It is by far the easiest and the most affordable peak climb in Nepal. The Island peak climbing  takes you to a height of 6000 meters above the sea level for the mountaineering experience  without expert training. It is also known as an “Island in the sea of ice” because of the highly glaciated  west face of the Island peak that rises from the Lhotse Glacier. It is an ideal experience or even a start  for amateur mountaineers to experience the Himalayas and take a closer look at the high peaks, including the Mt.Everest.
 
The Island peak is an extension of the South Ridge, which rises to form the summit of Island peak. The peak is a counter part of Lhotse Shar that is separated by a small col.The south-west part of the mountain is a common route used by the trekkers to the south summit of the Island Peak.
 
The Island Peak climbing not only allows us to view the breath taking view of the Himalayas, but also gives us the adventure of high altitude and rough terrains. Including the hike to Everest base camp and Kala Pathhar, this relatively easy trekking peak is also fun in its own way.
 
Island Peak or Imja Tse not only provides an fun climb in the Himalayas but also allows you to witness the panoramic view of the Himalayas, namely Nuptse (7,879m), Lhotse (8,501m), Lhotse Middle Peak (8,410m) and Lhotse Shar (8,383m) which make a semi-circle in the north view, Makalu (8475m) in the east view, and Baruntse and Amadablam in the south view.Island peak is surely the first peak to climb for a complete beginner.
